Your guide to SEEK Volunteer

A warm welcome to all first time visitors. Almost 3 million Australians make a difference in their local community by volunteering with a wide range of not-for-profit organisations. SEEK Volunteer makes it easy to find suitable opportunities. This service is completely free for all potential volunteers and qualified non-profit organisations.

Why volunteer?

People volunteer for many different reasons and in many different ways. There is a great deal of satisfaction that comes from making a difference to other people in your local community. Volunteering offers many other rewards too. You can learn new skills and gain valuable experience in a wide range of skills that may or may not be related to your paid work. It's also a great way to meet new people who share your interests.

By using SEEK Volunteer you understand that listed volunteer organisations are independent organisations responsible for their own actions and not agents of Volunteering Australia Inc. Whilst listed volunteer organisations have represented to Volunteering Australia Inc that they have volunteer insurance, Volunteering Australia cannot warrant this, and recommend that I substantiate this with individual organisations before accepting a volunteer position."

Why SEEK Volunteer?

Seek has developed and introduced this zone (the first of its kind in Australia) because we saw an opportunity to blend our technological and marketing expertise with our commitment to being socially proactive, and make a difference to the community. The difference that we've made is outstanding - not only to the thousands of people who wanted to volunteer and didn't know where to start, but to the many charities that have suddenly found helping arms & legs from no-where! Go Volunteer was born in 2001 - The International Year of Volunteers - and a few years down the track we're kicking goals and winning awards - a Prime Minister's Award no less! (We were awarded a multi-State winner of the 2003 Prime Minister's Award for Community Business Partnerships initiative and were one of three finalists for the national awards).

We are genuinely and wholeheartedly committed to the volunteering cause. In addition to delivering this free service, we also aim to support and promote a worthwhile cause that needs volunteers each month. Our staff and management also get behind many of these programs, by volunteering their time and expertise.

We're completely inspired by this initiative. If you work for a company that is interested in blending its marketing and social objectives why not contact Cavill + Co, the firm that helped us develop ours? You’ll find our marketing case study at www.cavill.com.au.
