The Program for After School Studies is targeted at young people from CALD backgrounds between the ages of 8 - 25 years old to assist with homework, reading, writing, acquiring speaking skills and study skills. Students can be tutored in a variety of subjects depending on their need. Sessions can be held face-to-face or online.
A Driver Mentors’ role is to accompany the Learner Driver during driving sessions to help them attain the number of supervised driving hours required for their logbook, providing constructive feedback and conveying the importance of road safety along the way. It is important to note the young person will have some experience on the road and your role is to consolidate the driving skills learned with a professional Driving Instructor. The Coordinator will commence as a dog reading team volunteer and after two school terms receive training to take on the Coordinator position. The Coordinator will recruit, train, support, manage and give recognition to volunteers within the region. The position will also raise awareness of the Story Dogs brand and services.
