Cultural Support Group Childcare volunteer

Women volunteers assist ARA staff by providing childcare assistance to mothers attending facilitated Cultural Support groups and by providing friendship and support around raising children and family life. Three groups are held on a weekly basis at different Salisbury locations during school terms: one for Afghani women on Thursday mornings, one for Burmese Chin women on Wednesday lunch-times, and one for Syrian Women on Tuesday mornings

Baptist Care SA's Friendship Program gives you the opportunity to meet regulary (6 hours per month over 6 months) with a refugee or asylum seeker to help them learn about Australian culture and customs, practice conversational English, and to build a friendship together. Many of the refugee participants in the program live in the Inner North or Outer Northern suburbs of Adelaide.
