About Inner West Neighbour Aid
Inner West Neighbour Aid has two focuses, Social Support and Home Maintenance. Our biggest Social Support projects are a home visiting/community visiting service and Outings. Our Home Visiting service provides social support to someone who may be isolated. We ask for minimum one hour a fortnight to visit someone and simply have a ‘cuppa’ and a chat - there is no personal care involved.
We also run mini-outings on weekdays, to a variety of destinations including local clubs, art galleries, Flower Power, Hydrotherapy and many more.
For our Garden Aid service, we have teams of volunteers that create low maintenance gardens for frail aged and disabled persons in our areas who are financially disadvantaged. We do not use electrical or power tools. Teams currently go out six days per week.
Neighbour Aid is governed by a volunteer Management Committee, and we are always interested in recruiting new members. If you are interested in observing or joining the Management Committee, please contact us to find out the details of the next meeting.
Inner West Neighbour Aid enhances community spirit by providing social support and home assistance to older people, people with disabilities and carers in our local area. We connect people who are passionate about helping others with people who need support to live safely and independently at home and remain active in our community.
