    Salvos Stores volunteers come from all walks of life, with individual goals from benefiting their local community, to having fun, learning new skills, and increasing self-confidence, and much more. Our growing volunteer base, now 5100 strong, helped Salvos Stores provide $21.5m to essential Salvation Army Programs, including $2.7m in clothing and other household items. Each year, the efforts of our volunteers help divert approximately 20,000 tonnes of goods from going to landfill.

    Carwoola landholders need our help to look after grassy woodlands, which are a rare and important ecosystem. We will be weeding and planting to restore the ecosystem and improve habitat quality for native birds and animals. We will also be doing some erosion control.

    The Atlas Moth has been found to reside in small populations around Darwin. Due to habitat destruction, numbers have decreased over time and Conservation Volunteers are working to restore important habitat sites. This project will include activities such as removing invasive plant species, photo point surveys and GPS mapping, planting food trees and general conservation tasks.

    Darwin has a variety of unique and beautiful beaches. A new location will be surveyed each week for Marine Debris which is then sorted and catalogued on the day, adding to a national database.
