Reliable and caring drivers to provide transportation needs e.g. medical, shopping, social and other appointments for the frail, aged and disabled clients. Most volunteers advise that they receive enormous satisfaction from providing help to our clients and this would be the primary benefit for volunteers. Vehicles are provided.
We are looking for a volunteer bus driver to drive a 21 seater bus for us once or twice a month. You will be responsible for picking the bus up from the RSL in Meadow Springs and driving it to The Cove. Staff will assist residents on to the bus, and it's your job to take them on a mystery tour. There will always be a staff member on the bus with you to care for elderly residents.
Do you have a love for reading and enjoy chatting with others about books? We are looking for a reliable volunteer who will give out library books to some of our residents every fortnight, and then collect the books up again ready for the next delivery. Books come in individual bags for each resident, selected by the Librarian. All you need to do is deliver them and enjoy a chat with each resident.
There are two lovely little birds in the dementia specific house which need some loving and caring for each week. The ideal volunteer will be able to attend twice a week to clean out the birdcage and check their food and water while chatting to some of our elderly residents and keeping them company.
Do you enjoy chatting and supporting our senior community? Brightwater Care Group are an aged care facility, and our residents are really quite high care. We are looking for a few men who are willing to come in for about 2 hours each week to get the gentlemen together and talk “boys talk”. Some ideas could be to sit outside, read the newspaper, play mini golf or lawn bowls, or even play games using the wii (golf, tennis etc) The group would consist of about 6 - 8 men.

Volunteers are required to help with patients with dementia at the Albany Health Campus. The volunteer role provides similar support to that which would be provided by a family carer. In this way the program is also designed to support family carers when they are unable to be with their loved one. Consent from the patient or their family is requested by staff before the volunteer can visit a patient. The volunteer firstly gains an understanding of the patient's background using a profile.

Some of our clients require transport and assistance to appointments and other activities and we would like to give our clients a more one-on-one service. This position is open to people who would like to use their own vehicles. Can be weekends if this suits the time you have available.
