Victoria Daly Regional Council
As part of the Local Government reforms in the Northern Territory, the Victoria Daly Regional Council came into existence on 1st July 2014 through the de-amalgamation of the Victoria Daly Shire Council into the Victoria Daly Regional Council and West Daly Regional Council. The Victoria Daly Regional Council (VDRC) now encompasses a geographical area of 153 000km2, which comprises of five indigenous communities and surrounding outstations; Kalkarindji/Daguragu, Nauiyu/Daly River, Pine Creek, Timber Creek and Yarralin. Latest data indicates total population estimates are approximately 4500.
