About Surfrider Foundation Limited Sunshine Coast Chapter

The Sunshine Coast branch looks after conservation of an extensive stretch of pristine coastline, from Caloundra to Noosa and on to Double Island Point. The branch keeps busy with regular beach clean-ups and dune care across the entire region. Our main local campaigns include the award winning 'Clean Up Double Island Weekend', run twice a year and regular 'School Education'. We coordinate and manage the iconic 'EcoChallenge' event run annually, which is where you come in!
We also conduct environmental awareness & education presentations at local surf, music & community events. Craig Macintyre is the president of the Sunshine Coast branch and can be contacted on 0415 670 639.
Christine Glennie is the Secretary, and can be contacted on M 0419892418
Surfrider Foundation Australia is a registered not for profit sea-roots organisation dedicated to the protection of Australia’s waves and beaches through Conservation, Activism, Research and Education C.A.R.E.

A little over 30 years ago, three passionate surfers in Malibu, California, found out that their favorite wave was about to be destroyed. Those three people worked with their local community and Government until they were satisfied that their iconic wave would be preserved. This was the genesis of Surfrider Foundation USA, which sparked a global movement of surfers and ocean enthusiast to stand up for their coasts and local marine environments. It has travelled around the world, so wherever you see a great line of waves and beaches, there will most likely be a branch of SURFRIDER FOUNDATION cleaning the ocean, and beaches globally
