The Junction Community Centre aims to create a welcoming, responsive, inclusive and supportive environment, working with the community to help it meet the needs of individuals, families and community groups in the local area. We offer a range of educational, recreational and social activities to the local community (in collaboration with other NFPs, council) to decrease social isolation and improve community participation by maximising opportunities and minimising barriers to learning. We work to recognise the needs of the community and tailor activities accordingly - be it by improving literacy, teaching life skills or delivering cross-cultural programs to improve understanding. We conduct community events to create a safe comfortable environment for locals to get to know their neighbours, our services and discuss new ideas. We hire the centre at heavily subsidised/no cost to support others' community initiatives & ensure social inclusion through sporting, religious/cultural or special interest/hobby groups.
