Our mission is to interest people in the history of Ipswich with special emphasis on the life and times of pioneers; to conserve, preserve and display documents and records including maps, charts, photos, drawings; and to conserve and display industrial, mining, domestic, agricultural, military and other equipment and objects of historical significance. We encourage members practicing and teaching traditional skills such as spinning, weaving, felt making and blacksmithing. We are developing a historical village to enable visitors o experience aspects of life in previous times. We host school visits and take suitable activities to a local special school.
