Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation provides support to children living in families affected by mental illness. The purpose of the foundation is to provide intervention and education for children giving them a break from their caring role, and in a safe and fun environment, building connections with other children living in similar situations. We are a collaborative, creative and fun team, who are passionate about making effective positive difference in the lives of many vulnerable children. We are building a dynamic volunteer team to help develop and grow with the organisation. Additionally, Kookaburra Kids delivers an early intervention program to children of current and ex-serving Australian Defense Force personnel who suffer from mental illness as a result of military service. We have four camps per year (two nights away, always on a Friday and Saturday night) plus monthly activities taking place (usually around 4 hours each event)
