Throughout the year Cityhope Care provides its Hampers of Hope Emergency Food Relief to individuals and families who are referred to us for assistance by over 50 support Agencies across Ipswich. In 2016 we provided 1010 hampers, helping 1490 adults and 2070 children. A free BBQ in Queens Park is held every Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:00pm for those in our community who are homeless, living in crowded boarding houses, feeling isolated, lonely or just struggling to make ends meet. Cityhope Care's A New Thing initiative has a goal to ensure women and children leaving domestic violence situations are supported to meet their immediate day to day needs, while avenues for long term support can be addressed. We recently put together care packs for 100 women, 50 babies, 50 primary aged children and 50 teenagers to be distributed through frontline services such as hospital emergency wards, Qld Police and Domestic violence centres.
