Helping young people in foster care to reach their potential, one hour at a time. At The Pyjama Foundation, we provide children and young people in foster care the opportunity to change the direction of their lives with learning, life skills and confidence. Volunteers called ‘Pyjama Angels’ are recruited, screened, trained and matched with a young person in care and they then spend one hour each week together, focusing on mentoring and learning-based activities. This one-on-one time has a profound impact on the young person, whilst also supporting their Foster Carer. The Pyjama Angel becomes a consistent, trusted mentor in the young person's life and gives them a chance to reach their life potential, despite a fragile start. Since 2004, The Pyjama Angel has supported over 11,000 young people in care. Our Love of Learning and Teen Life Skills programs cater to young people between 0-24 years of age, across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. If you have any questions about what's involved in being a Pyjama Angel, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd love to hear from you!
