Andersons Creek Landcare

Logo for Andersons Creek Landcare

Andersons Creek Landcare aims to restore the bush along this tributary which leads into the Yarra River at Warrandyte on the outskirts of Melbourne and the group has been volunteering here since 2007. We need your help. We meet for weeding every Wednesday Feb to Dec and plant four times a year. No experience is needed as we'll guide you and everyone is welcome, no matter what your age. Where we work is quite flat and is close to Gold Memorial Road. Tools are provided and a yummy afternoon tea will see you refueled! Contact Fritz by mobile to answer any questions you may have. We have a big job to remove all the Vinca, a creeper also known as Periwinkle - among other weeds - but are making good progress. We plant mainly Poah's a tough indigenous grass which also supports the growth of native wildflowers and can withstand drought and predators. We'd love to have you join us, even if you can only come along occasionally.
