EdConnect Australia connects volunteers who want to make a difference, with young people in school who need extra help and guidance, be it mentoring or learning support. Robert is struggling with his reading, he needs someone to encourage him, listen and make reading fun. Amy has experienced some disruption at home that is affecting her engagement at school. She needs a reliable, caring mentor to listen, build her confidence and help her make the most of her educational opportunities. Could you use your skills, life experience and time to support a local student and help them thrive? All new EdConnect volunteers undertake training that helps them feel prepared and confident for their chosen role. Volunteers receive support from their school and EdConnect along the way, including volunteer meetings and newsletters. We ask volunteers to commit to one hour a week, during school terms as a minimum, but your role could grow.
