IndoAustay Ltd is a volunteer-run not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee of its members, the Australian Indonesian Association of Victoria Inc. (AIAV) and the Australia Indonesia Association of New South Wales (AIA NSW). It runs cultural and language programmes for secondary school students and for adults between Indonesia and Australia Of four such programmes occurring each year, two are six-week exchanges in close cooperation with Yayasan Mitra Aziziyah Sejahtera (YMAS) of Bandung. The Northbound (Australia to Indonesia) exchange occurs each year from early December to late January, while the Southbound (Indonesia to Australia) exchange occurs annually from late July to early September, each of these programmes involving anywhere between 5 and 25 participants. IndoAustay also offers fortnight-long intensive Indonesian language courses for school students and for adults, entailing a balance of classroom and in-field learning experience. The secondary school student course is taught in Jogjakarta under direct IndoAustay supervision, while the adult course is conducted by the Balai Bahasa of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) in Bandung. Like the exchange, participants in these immersion programmes are normally accommodated with local families in a home-stay arrangement. Incorporated in 2008, the Company is approved by the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority (VRQA) as an overseas secondary school exchange organization (OSSEO).
