The Bundaberg Health Services Foundation’s vision is to provide: Medical equipment for Bundaberg Hospital (not funded by the government), Funds for research into the nature, origin and causes of disease, Professional training for medical and nursing staff, and Programs relating to the prevention and control of disease. The Foundation was established 1999 when a large bequest was made. It helps not only Bundaberg patients but also those from the Wide Bay Health Service which includes Monto, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Eidsvold, Biggenden, Agnes Water, Childers, Gin Gin and Mt Perry. The Foundation is run by dedicated volunteers who are community and business leaders. Members of the Board are appointed by the Governor-in-Council upon the recommendation of the Minister for Health for terms of three years.
