McCall Gardens Community Services Limited (McCall) was formed in the early 1950’s after parents with handicapped children had come together with a view to establish a suitable place for their children to live. In 1954 a founding member, Mrs Hazel Nelson, approached Sir William McCall (land owner of current Box Hill site and organisations name sake) to purchase the land at Box Hill, which he later donated to the association. The association then purchased additional acreages surrounding the site. Today McCall continues to operate from this site and other locations in North Western Sydney. Its parent company, McCall Gardens Community Foundation Limited, has plans for redevelopment of the site to ensure that the organisation can continue to operate from the site for many years to come. The organisation is a registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provider and offers supports in; Supported Accommodation, Specialist Disability Accommodation, Community Participation, Support Coordination, School Leaver Employment Supports and Inclusive Play Centre.
