Telecross Caller Volunteer
- Kwinana Town Centre Western Australia
- Category: Community Services
- Types of work: Companionship & Social Support
Friendly volunteers make calls each morning, 365 days a year. If the call is not answered, Red Cross will take action to make sure you are OK. Even if you have visitors during the week, a phone call first thing in the morning can make a difference if an emergency response is required. The calls provide reassurance as well as help to maintain independence. Telecross volunteers are rostered to make up to 20 brief phone calls in one hour, with shifts available every morning of the week from 8-9am, including weekends, to check on the wellbeing of clients. Volunteers log in and keep records of all the calls made, ensuring the confidentiality of clients is always maintained. Calls may be to any location within Western Australia.
