Perth NRM is a non-profit organisation we work for the Perth community to lead a collaborative and integrated approach to natural resource management. Our work preserves and improves our natural surroundings with consideration to its interactive role in supporting our quality of life for both present and future generations. We develop and manage projects, events, as well as building support through collaborative networks, corporate volunteering, grants, sponsorship and fundraising. Through natural resource management, we contribute to the ongoing social, economic and environmental well-being of the Perth region – and work to promote long term outcomes in relation to the quality and quantity of our water resources, the health of our coastal environment, the value and abundance of our biodiversity, the preservation of our cultural heritage and the sustainability of our agricultural practices. An important aspect of this is our custodianship of the Swan Region Strategy for NRM; a publicly recognised regional strategy that guides investment into natural resource management. And the Food Future Plan which proposes pathways to achieving sustainably produced secure food for the future. We are part of a state wide network of NRM organisations that have worked together for more than ten years and manage funded programs at a regional level as part of the Australian Government’s National Landcare Programme.
