South Australian Maritime Museum

The SA Maritime Museum preserves, explores and celebrates the history of our oceans and rivers. It is restoring the ketch Nelcebee which was launched in 1883 and is operating a classic timber launch and a steam tug. More than 70,000 people a year visit the Maritime Museum to see its changing exhibitions and events. The Museum is heir to the collection of the Port Adelaide Institute, a collection begun in 1872 and now the oldest nautical collection in Australia.
