Assistive Technology Australia (previously, Independent Living Centre NSW) is a leading information, education, and advisory centre for Assistive Technology and the Built Environment. We are located in Westpoint Blacktown, NSW Australia and are a not-for-profit, community based organisation and Public Benevolent Institution. Our Purpose is to provide impartial advice, information and leadership that builds capacity and optimises the value of assistive technology in leading a life of choice. We are open Monday to Friday 9.00 am - 4.00 pm. Public can call our Infoline or make an appointment with our therapists to visit our Smart Display Centre at Westpoint Blacktown. Our health professionals, primarily occupational therapists, can discuss and offer practical solutions to everyday problems for the general public in need. For people with disabilities, older people, their carers and family members, there are no charges for this personal service. Our InfoLine service welcomes the public to phone, fax, mail and email enquiries about their daily living needs. The information we provide comes from our products and suppliers database with almost 7,000 Assistive Technology items. We have on display a comprehensive range of products and equipment to assist with daily living activities. For the general public who can travel to our Centre at Blacktown, they can make an appointment to see our occupational therapists. We offer personal assistance and advice on products, equipment and building design.
