Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is an auspice of the Community Visitor Scheme (CVS), an initiative funded by the Australian Government. CVS Volunteers visit residents in Aged Care homes in NSW & VIC either one-to-one or as a group. In some areas, CVS volunteers may visit older people in their own home. Volunteers provide companionship and friendship and reduce the effects of isolation. Volunteer visitors may share stories, go for a stroll, listen to music or play a game. As a CVS volunteer you play a vital role in improving the quality of life of the person through ongoing companionship. Although the program is auspiced by MS Society our clients don't generally have MS. They just have to be lonely of over 65 years of age.
