Museum Guide/Assistant - Townsville
Townsville Museum & Historical Society Inc
A Museum Guide/Assistant is required to help visitors experience the history of Townsville at the Townsville Museum. Volunteers at the Museum assist in a variety of ways from front of house reception, warmly greeting visitors to the museum through to interesting behind the scenes duties as well as guiding people through the Museum, educating and connecting visitors to Townsville history and heritage.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a keen interest in Townsville’s heritage to not only learn more but also enthusiastically connect members of the public, school and community groups, as well as out of town visitors to our rich history.
The Museum both appreciates and depends upon its volunteers for ongoing operation and the position is a great opportunity for retirees looking for a way to give back to the community through helping us in the conservation and promotion of history and heritage. Meet other volunteers who also have a respect for the Townsville Story and enjoy the company of other like-minded people. If you have a background in education we would love to hear from you!
We are looking for a long term commitment.
Museum opening times:
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 2.30pm.
First and third Sunday of the month 1.30 to 3.30pm. Volunteers aren't required to work these days.
Closed Public Holidays.
