We are seeking a volunteer to join our visiting team.

The aims of the visits are:

• To foster friendships, establish rapport and reduce isolation
• To maintain social skills and share information and knowledge
• To provide companionship and support
• To maintain contact with previous communities of significance

You can bring your own interests and skills into this role and we will aim to match you with residents who have the same interests. Visiting a resident could involve – chatting, playing a board game or the wii, reading, sitting in the garden, craft etc.

Requirements:

• 2024 Influenza Vaccination
• Agreed weekly commitment

• Non judgemental, tolerant attitude
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work as part of a team and without constant direct supervision
• Ability to seek assistance when required
• Ability to use initiative and problem solve
