Moree Showground Crown Land Manager

Expressions of Interest are invited for the volunteer caretaking service of the Moree Showgrounds. The caretaking service is a key appointment which will provide successful applicants with a challenging and rewarding situation in a progressive and dynamic town situated at the heart of NSW’s northern wheatbelt and recognized nationally as Australia’s Artesian Spa Capital. Moree is a town rich in culture, heritage, agriculture and natural assets which intertwine to define the characteristics of both the town and the community.

As caretakers you will be the first point of contact for many visitors to the Moree area, a cheery disposition and outlook in our caretakers is vital.

The Moree Showground site is used for caravan, RV and camping overnight stays, and for regular and one-off sporting, recreation, cultural and community events and pursuits. The Moree Showground Crown Land Manager is responsible for managing the site and its facilities on behalf of the NSW Department of Industry – Lands and Water.

The caretakers role would suit a couple whose responsibilities include undertaking visitor check-ins, collection of caravan park/camping fees, and to provide information and support services for caravan, RV and camping visitors, casual enquirers, check-in and support for events, sporting and cultural organisers and patrons and maintenance and cleaning of the grounds, buildings, toilets, showers, laundry and camp kitchen.

A three bedroom air-conditioned caretaker’s cottage is provided at no charge along with utilities and NBN. All equipment and consumables for cleaning, mowing, maintenance and incidentals are funded by the Moree Showground Crown Land Manager. A mobile phone is provided for the caretaking service. Official First Aid Certificate training will be funded by the Crown Land Manager where necessary.
