Your chance to make a real difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

YOUR NEW FAMILY:

Founded in 2014 by Brisbane mates, Lucas Patchett and Nicholas Marchesi, Orange Sky's mission is to positively connect communities - through free laundry, showers and conversation. Through a network of 37 services in 26 locations, over 2000 volunteers operate mobile shifts each week to connect with people doing it tough. Our volunteers are not social workers or experts on homelessness - they are empathetic listeners and great conversationalists.

What started as an idea to improve hygiene standards and restore dignity to people doing it tough has evolved into something much bigger and more powerful. There are 116,000 people in Australia experiencing homelessness, and we are proud to be part of the greater community of service providers and not-for-profits helping to support people doing it tough.

YOUR NEW ROLE: The Vehicle Leader role is fundamental to maintaining one of the most important aspects of Orange Sky Australia - the van. The Vehicle Leader will be the first point of contact for troubleshooting any issues or faults with the van, responsible for transporting the van for repairs and maintenance. It would be advantageous if you have experience in minor vehicle repairs and vehicle maintenance (in-depth mechanical knowledge or skill is NOT required for this role).

It is also the Vehicle Leader's responsibility to complete the weekly van checklist to ensure the van is always safe, clean and well stocked. These roles will report directly to the Service Leader and will work closely with our volunteers to make sure they are well resourced every week. This is approx. 4-5hrs per week on average.

If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
