Mission to Seafarers Victoria (MtSV) Host
Tasks and responsibilities include:
• Welcoming all visitors to the MtSV, and providing orientation as required. • Providing information on the work of the MtSV. • Following systems to ensure that all communication is passed on correctly, including answering the telephone, responding to enquiries, and reporting incidents. • Providing foreign exchange services to seafarers. • Selling SIM cards to seafarers and assisting with activation. • Providing seafarers with information on Melbourne. • Cleaning as required. • Offering and serving drinks from the bar.
Skills and experience:
• A pleasant manner and well-developed people skills • Comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds and different countries • Quick thinking and good time management • Ability to work autonomously or in a team environment • Willingness to provide assistance to staff as required • Healthy appreciation of volunteering and willingness to work within the ethos of the Mission to Seafarers
