About the Role:

Recreation volunteers provide support to Aruma Support Workers in their duties at our weekend social group outings. Delivering high quality, professional and individualised Recreation Services to our customers with disability, in a safe and enjoyable environment, that promotes independence and inclusion. 

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality support services to customers with disabilities.
  • Promoting community integration and supporting clients in accessing social and recreational activities.
  • Encouraging independence and empowering clients to achieve their personal goals.
  • Advocating for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Attend scheduled planning meetings as required - i.e., Camp Planning Meetings
  • Complete general administration tasks if required.
  • Work alongside our employees as a cooperative team member.

Do I need any qualifications or experience?

You don’t need any disability experience or qualifications to join the Aruma Volunteer team. Our staff will provide you with training and support every step of the way.  Some checks that are required before volunteering:

  • Police check (National Police Criminal Record Check – over 18 years of age).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check – preferred
  • Working with Children Check - preferred.
  • Two satisfactory references: one being from an employer or previous employer.
