Big Brother/Big Sister Mentor Volunteers- East, Inner West or North Sydney - #133089

Jewish Care is currently seeking volunteers living in the East, Inner West or North Sydney who want to make a difference to a young person.

Mentors are volunteers aged between 18-45 who have a keen interest in supporting children and young people between the ages of 9-25 and come from a many backgrounds with various interests. Mentors may be single, married, working full time or studying.

Once linked to a young person the volunteer will commit to seeing their mentee once a fortnight for 2-4 hours If the person is aged 9-14 this will need to take place on a weekend. If young person is 15-25 years, a mutually convenient time may be arranged.

Volunteers will need to have good communication and be able to engage with a young person to gain their trust so they can make a real difference.

The success of this program depends on building a relationship with a young person so it is important that volunteers should be reliable and able to make a commitment.

All contacts will be in accordance with COVID safe guidelines.
