We are a charity called Hair Aid.
Hair Aid’s second mission is to recruit and coordinate volunteer hairdressers to work with organisations in their local community (support organisations, churches, community groups, etc) that support those in our own communities that need a hand. We call these events Hair Aid Community Cuts (HACCs). Our teams support community groups, charities, government organisations and/or church groups that care for homeless, domestic violence sufferers, migrants or those just in suffering at a time of crisis. Our teams provide free haircuts, for 2 –3 hours every six weeks at their local Hair Aid Community Cuts event. It is with this all these events we need help.
General Admin - managing emails from our volunteers and to community organistions 2-3 hours week. Packing resources for courier collection - every now and then. Developing media releases and web page content Touching base with community groups and volunteers by phone or email Microsoft word, skills are super useful to have!
However you must know that I organise all these events from my home address with this, at Woolloongabba, not a corporate office. If this suits you I am looking for a volunteer that would be happy to do one meet and greet and perhaps a few hours a week to start with to understand what needs to be done, then 2-3 hours a fortnight ongoing. Does this sound like something you would like to do?
I do conduct inductions sessions, for new volunteers to come along and hear what Hair Aid is all about – but I ask that you listen to one or two of our podcasts on our webpage first then decide if Hair Aid is for you!
