Volunteer Visitor - Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme - Brisbane South

The Volunteer Visitor will provide friendship and companionship through regular one-on-one/or group visits to older people residing in Australian Government Residential Aged Care Facilities and/or one-on-one visits to recipients of Footprints in Brisbane (Footprints) Home Care Packages (HCP) who are socially isolated or at risk of social isolation.
The activities will vary depending on clients’ and volunteers’ hobbies, interests and skills along with clients’ health, mobility and daily schedules and may include: • One-on-one visits • Small group residential visits • Games • Reminiscing/chatting • Letter reading/writing • Accompanied walking • Watching television • Listening to music
This is a role where you can volunteer with children, a partner or family member, or on your own.
Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme recipients are as diverse as the community - If you speak a language other than English, we may have a client from a migrant background who would appreciate the chance to talk to you in their first language.
Service regions include South Coast, Darling Downs, Logan River Valley, Brisbane South, Brisbane North, West Moreton, Caboolture and Sunshine Coast Region.
