Please note: we have an application process which includes completing an application form and induction that need to be complete before starting volunteering for us. The link to start the application process can be found on GAP's website under the volunteering tab.

What is required?

  • Enrichment volunteers sign up for their own shifts available on the volunteer portal once they have completed their induction training. - Training includes some important health and safety guidelines for working at our kennels, plus an onsite induction.
  • Enrichment volunteers can be involved regularly every week, or as a “bite-sized” volunteer.
  • Enrichment shifts at the Seymour kennels are run every Tuesday to Saturday between 10am-3pm
  • Enrichment shifts at the Tullamarine kennels are run every Monday to Friday and Sunday between 10am-3pm
  • Set up, implementation, supervising the greyhounds and clean-up of the activities is required
  • You should be comfortable in handling dogs of large size (up to 40kg) and various energy levels (including some very excited greyhounds
  • Enrichment volunteers will work as a team or individually, depending on the day

Please note: We require volunteers to be at least 18 years old. If you are not 18, please have a parent/guardian complete the volunteer application form and attend the information session with you.
