RABBIT RUNAWAY ORPHANAGE is a non-profit organisation. It is a public charity, run by a small dedicated group of volunteers. We are reliant on donations for vet care and to prepare the rabbits for rehoming, and all funds go to this effort.

Requirements:

  • Responsible, mature and be vigilant of cleaning protocol
  • Be able to commit to a weekly or fortnightly morning (8:30am - 12:30pm)
  • Minimum age 18yrs

PLEASE NOTE: This is a voluntary position and it is essential that the successful applicants will commit to a regular weekly or fortnightly morning shift starting at 8.30am. Earlier start for those "early birds".

Primary Responsibilities: Shelter attendants are responsible for the cleaning of rabbit enclosures and maintaining cleanliness at the rabbit orphanage. Other roles include observation and monitoring the day to day health of the rabbits.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Experience with family pets, or an animal-related area is preferred
  • Empathy towards animals
  • An interest in rabbit health and well-being
  • Ability to empathise and communicate effectively and efficiently with a broad range of people
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a cohesive team, as well as independently
  • Be comfortable with bending and lifting (minimal weight involved)
