Duties include:

• Provide non-clinical conversations with patients while sitting with them
• Offering patients, families and friends refreshments, ensuring you have checked the patients dietary requirements with nursing staff
• Restock: glove boxes outside patient rooms, blanket warmer etc.
• Conduct Prem Survey
• Replenish water jugs
• Refresh and arrange patient and ward flowers
• Ensure public areas in ward such as lounges are tidy, clean, and stocked as required, e.g. maintain tea and coffee requirements
• Assist visitors to find relatives and friends on the ward
• Orientate patients, relatives and visitors to services and facilities on the ward and hospital e.g. cafe, phones, car parking
