Mentoring; Literacy and Learning Support

EdConnect Australia (previously School Volunteer Program)

We offer flexible roles from mentoring one-to-one and general classroom support through to gardening, library and club activities. You’ll receive quality training from our experienced staff who will support you throughout the entire process.
As a mentor you can- support a student by visiting them at school for 1 hour per week, to help with academic tasks, having conversations about their wellbeing or doing crafts/sports or other activities. As a Learning Support Volunteer you can- assist in the classroom with reading and numeracy support or with literacy programs, breakfast club or library activities. You'll be able to share skills, knowledge and experience that can transform the students prospects whilst gaining the opportunity for you to make new friends and make a difference in your community. Also need support from people with special skills like woodwork, trades, music etc. There is a program for Aboriginal students who would benefit from Aboriginal mentors/ role models.
