About Centacare Employment and Training

Centacare Employment and Training is a not for profit registered training organisation that delivers education and training programs to members of the community to help them develop the skills, confidence and independence necessary to broaden opportunities for work and secure a better economic future for themselves.

About our Students

The students in Centacare's Alternative Education Program (AEP) are 15 to 17 year olds who are critically at educational risk due to disengagement from school. This program aims to re-engage young people and improve their literacy, life and employability skills.

About the Position

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to provide support to the Teachers and Youth Workers in the AEP program at our training sites in Armadale, Hilton and Mirrabooka. Some of the key activities you would be involved in are:

  • One-on-one support to help students by reinforcing teacher-led-activities
  • Support computer activities
  • Support various other activities

Experience in working with Youth would be beneficial but not essential.

Successful applicants will undergo a comprehensive training program.

We are looking for committed volunteers to provide support for at least 6 months. Classes run from 9-2.30pm 3-4 days/week (depending on site) during school terms. Flexible time arrangement can be made.

If you want to make a difference in the lives of others and help Centacare achieve its mission to "transform lives through education, training and employment", then apply to volunteer with us today!
