The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of JoCare.

JoCare is part of the Federal Governments Community Visitors Scheme. Volunteer visitors are welcomed by those who are experiencing disconnection from their local community. Some volunteers will visit people in their homes, other volunteers will visit people in aged care facilities. All we ask of our volunteers is to come with an open heart, and make a connection with someone.

The vision of JoCare is directed to encouraging friendship and support within neighbourhoods in the local Stonnington area. JoCare volunteers make a difference in the community by connecting with those who are socially isolated. During the COVID-19 pandemic volunteers are undertaking volunteering through phone calls and letter writing.

Please note: Whilst this role will be undertaken remotely during the Pandemic, ideally you will live locally and be able to move to face to face visiting when this becomes permitted.

Training and ongoing support are provided to volunteers.

Note: You will need to be a resident of Metropolitan Melbourne to express interest in this role.
