The Marketing and Communications Team Leader provides oversight and increases the effectiveness of FFARQ’s marketing and communications activities, which include but are not limited to, the management of the FFARQ website and social media platforms, as well as working closely with the Fundraising Team Leader to help FFARQ’s fundraising efforts. By promoting and raising awareness of FFARQ, this will allow us to rescue a greater number of animals.
Key Responsibilities • Work with the President and the Social Media Brand Strategist to develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy to promote and raise awareness of FFARQ • Work with the Website Administrator to manage the FFARQ website • Work with the Social Media Assistants to cultivate FFARQ’s social media presence and monitor its performance • Liaise with the Blog and Newsletter Writers for the production and distribution of FFARQ publications and collateral, including the monthly e-newsletter and weekly blogs, consistent with FFARQ branding • Prepare all new Social Media Team Members for on-boarding, ensuring a smooth transition • Lead and inspire a team of staff to deliver on challenging marketing and communications targets • Manage marketing and communications budgets, and monitor and report on income and expenditure • Develop and nurture internal and external stakeholder relationships to deliver on the organisation’s strategic plans • Identify opportunities for, and implement, continuous process improvements • Produce and present departmental reports to the Executive Committee • Develop and implement marketing and communications policies and procedures • Work with an Events Coordinator to manage specific projects and events to assist with engaging prospective major donors • Attend the weekly team “virtual” meeting
To be considered for the role you will have: • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role • Experience in digital and traditional marketing • Prior experience working for not-for-profits or social enterprises will be highly regarded • Ability to analyse, plan and implement strategic marketing and communications programs • Ability to lead and motivate a team towards achievement of goals and create a positive team culture • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and implement solutions • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills • Excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail, and self-motivated • Ability to influence and negotiate with a range of stakeholders • Computer literacy skills in Gmail, Google Docs, online systems and Social Media
