During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to someone’s life, we would love to hear from you!
Anna* seeks a volunteer who speaks Italian and who is friendly, social, chatty, positive and encouraging. Anna* enjoys cooking, watching Italian TV shows and listening to Italian radio.
The selected volunteer will be open to conversing on a number of topics as well as sharing an outing in the local community. You'll support Anna* to increase her confidence, and creatively reconnect her with her interests. By providing social interaction and conversation, You'll support and encourage Anna to achieve her social goals.
You must have a car and be prepared to transport Anna in it on local outings. A valid Victorian driver's license is essential, as is the confidence to work independently.
*Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Anna and enable her to stay connected to the community.
Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided. *Participant's name has been altered to maintain privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote GL-N-09.
