During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Uniting is seeking an Italian-speaking volunteer with an outgoing, positive, encouraging and patient demeanour to support Anita* to achieve her social support goals. Anita* is passionate about her garden, cooking, reading and watching the Italian TV station.

The selected applicant will also demonstrate the ability to creativity reconnect Anita with her interests including crochet and knitting. Visits will involve providing weekly visits to Anita* at her home as well as sharing a local outing to have coffee at a café. You'll be an effective communicator with the skills and confidence to work independently.

Valid Victorian drivers license necessary, and you must be prepared to utilise your own vehicle to transport Anita* on outings. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

Please note that during COVID-19 this role will commence over the phone, which will enable you to establish rapport and connection with Anita and enable her to stay connected to the community. **Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote FM-S-07.
