Experienced Volunteers are needed for a Refugee Youth Education Employment and Training Program. The Program aims to support and build the capacity of young people with a refugee background, to navigate employment, training and education pathways. The vision is that these young people will be supported to shape their own futures through career mentoring, delivered in a youth-driven way.

About The Role:

  • Weekly meetings, assisting mentees to:
    • Navigate education and employment pathways
    • Enrol in training programs and courses
    • Make enquires with educational and training providers
    • Write or update resume and cover letters
    • Apply for jobs
    • Prepare for a job interview
  • Time commitment is 2 hour per week, within business hours Monday-Friday, for 12 months
  • One full days mandatory training provided

About You:

  • Previous work experience and/or professional skills relevant to the career’s advice and mentoring space
  • Open to sharing experiences, skills and expertise
  • Great listener
  • Able to commit for 12 months
  • Encouraging and supportive
  • All Volunteers must provide a current Police and Working with Children Check and 2 professional referees
