We are looking for program volunteers to help reduce barriers encountered by young people during their settlement in Australia for 2.5-4 hours per week for 9 weeks each Thursdays. Through a variety of group activities, UCAN2 Volunteers will: share their work, study and life experiences in Australia; act as positive role models, help young people practice English; and help foster young people’s confidence to make social connections and develop their skills.

UCAN2 is a life skills program delivered by The Queensland Program of Assistance to the Survivors of Torture and Trauma in partnership with TAFE.

The Main Objectives of the UCAN2 Program are:

• To increase education, training and employment opportunities for young refugees during resettlement, recovery and integration processes. • To increase the level of cooperation between providers of education, social support, training and employment services working with young people (16-24) from refugee backgrounds
