Do you have the following traits: ● Empathy to older people, those who experience a disability and their carers ● Reliability, punctuality and commitment ● An ability to show initiative and responsibility ● An ability to contribute to a supportive team environment ● Time management skills ● Knowledge of transport area & ability/willingness to read maps
As a Volunteer Driver, you will provide transport for people who are frail and ageing, people who experience a disability, and their carers. You will drive a Council Community Bus which can be operated using a standard car licence.
The role of the Volunteer Driver also includes the following activities: Complete a vehicle safety check at the beginning of each shift Ensure the vehicle is left in a clean & tidy condition at the end of every shift Report any damage to vehicles, concerns or potential hazards Refuel vehicles Provide safe transport to consumers Provide transport to facilitate consumer independence and connection to the community Engage in professional development & training opportunities Adhere to all Council & volunteer policies & procedures
