We have a fundraising opportunity available for clubs, should you have any members who are interested in volunteering. With over 120km of road to cover, we require an army of marshals on event day to direct participants and spectators. Marshals are our eyes and ears on the ground and assist with directing riders along the course, as well as keeping the course clear of debris and other obstacles. This is a great way for your club to be a part of this fantastic community event - and, also earn money for new equipment, social functions etc. So, if your club would like to get involved in the 2020 MSWA Ocean Ride – Powered by RetraVision, please get in touch!
Road marshals must have the ability and confidence to direct participants and spectators in a safe manner. All marshals must be over 16 years old and will: • Receive a full event and safety briefing by MSWA staff and other ride contractors. • Be allocated a central meeting point on event day. (Please note that volunteers may be required to drive 5km to 10km from the meeting point to their specific marshalling location once they have been briefed). • Be provided with a hi-vis safety vest, event lanyard and all important event information (including course maps, role descriptions etc.) • Be covered by MSWA’s public liability and personal accident insurance for volunteers.
