EdConnect Australia is an established name in school communities. We provide support to over 15,000 students and there are more students who need support.
As a Learning Support volunteer you are a positive role models for students, as well as supplementary, hands-on assistance for teachers.
A high school in Geelong is specifically seeking volunteers to work with small groups of Year 7-10 students to extend their learning in taking a problem solving approach to mathematics. You don't need to be an expert in Maths, more skills in facilitating the students as they problem solve to find the answers.
We require volunteers that can offer a minimum of 2-3 hours of volunteering every week on a Term by Term basis. The school will also provide some guidance and training around the specifics of the role.
In addition to carefully screening our volunteers, EdConnect will provide best-practice training and ongoing support and development opportunities.
Please note that all volunteers must be aged 18 years or older, must be available during school hours and either be an Australian citizen/resident or entitled to live and work in Australia.
Applying to become a volunteer with EdConnect Australia is a formal process with prospective volunteers initially required to fill out an application form, as well successfully applying for a Working with Children Check Card.
You will need to attend an interview. Once your application is successfully processed you will be invited to attend training before being placed in a school.
