Providing meaningful activities to young people detained in Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre that increase confidence, skills, employability and positive relationships. Activities include arts, music, sports and culture.
This role suits someone who is reliable, compassionate and has a good understanding of and a capacity to respond appropriately to challenging behaviours. As a YIDA volunteer, you will facilitate approved activity sessions, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for young detainees.
As a YIDA volunteer, you will help to increase the confidence, self-esteem, skills, positive relationships and employability of young people in the Youth Detention Centre. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
