Our 16-week volunteer program is designed to facilitate learning within a collaborative office environment, as well as offer practical experience working on events administration & marketing. The volunteer program also provides valuable opportunities for students / graduates to network with professionals in Sydney’s thriving startup ecosystem.

The Marketing/Events + Admin Volunteer will complement the Coordinator's role in marketing efforts and external promotion of The Studio, its facilities & events relevant to the startup community and creative sector through digital channels & print.

You will also help by undertaking a variety of administrative tasks & practical daily activities directly contributing to the production and operational requirements of The Studio, reporting to the Community & Events Coordinator.

The role is suited to an enthusiastic and energetic person who is interested in jumping into a fast-paced environment, and willing to do what it takes in order to get the job done.

This position is apt to someone with strong interest in digital/ social media marketing and can demonstrate excellent written skills, effective visual communication skills, & strong verbal communications skills.

Administrative skills & attention to detail are essential in conducting online research, doing documentations, scheduling, booking, updating and monitoring. The role will help feel residents & guests welcomed & valued through exceptional customer service & people skills applied in the performance of concierge duty.

Skills Required: We are looking for volunteers with the following skills, qualifications or experience to fill this volunteer role: (1) Firm, assertive and courteous front desk reception skills (2) At least 3 months accumulated or continuous experience in using Canva (3) Intermediate understanding of social media marketing and social media paid advertising using Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter (4) Fluent English oral & written communication skills; copywriting and copy-editing skills for marketing campaigns (5) Strong event administration and event management skills (6) Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office and/or G Suite (Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets) (7) Exceptional attention to detail (8) Ability to follow directions carefully (9) Proficient in using Mac/PC and can do self-directed learning of new technical tools/ softwares/ applications (10) Nimble and quick to adapt, self-learn and improve (11) Visual design skills (12) Engaging writing skills (13) Customer service skills

** Desirable Skills: ** (a) Intermediate understanding of SEO as well as creating and designing campaigns using Google Ads (b) At least 3 months experience in creating & editing newsletters using Mailchimp/ Active Campaign; (c) Demonstrated interest in events management and digital marketing; (d) Familiarity with the startup environment

Hours:  8 hours / day in between 7:30am - 6:30pm, min 2 days per week
