As a Physiotherapy Assistance Volunteer, you'll be supporting the physiotherapy program at our aged care home in North Turramurra, helping residents to maintain their health, strength and wellbeing.

As you volunteer each week, you’ll be responsible for:

• Supporting and encouraging residents to participate in physiotherapy and movement activities in accordance with the instructions and guidance of the physiotherapist. This volunteer role will suit someone who is aged between 16 – 79 and has:

• Good communication skills - including clear verbal communication • Empathy and patience • Capacity to relate to a diverse range of people • Driver’s license & ability to travel to North Turramurra • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Current flu vaccination or be willing to have the vaccination prior to starting University and TAFE students, and Duke of Edinburgh participants over 16 years are encouraged to apply.

The time commitment is at one session each week for six months or longer. We are looking for people to fill the following shifts:

• Wednesday 10:30am – 11:30am • Wednesday 1:30pm – 2:30pm • Thursday 10:30am – 11:30am

We'll provide training and support from an onsite Volunteer Coordinator. Successful applicants will be required to complete a police background check which we’ll arrange.
