Special Olympics Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that provides regular sports training, competition opportunities and development programs for people with an intellectual disability across Australia.
We are currently seeking a qualified swimming assistant coach who can provide training support for athletes with an intellectual disability.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and able to motivate swimmers with intellectual disability.
Competencies / Skills required: • Excellent organisational and communication skills • Support in the preparation of skill sessions and activities for athletes • Monitor and provide feedback regarding athlete development which will involve respectfully liaising with parents and or support workers • Provide a supporting environment that encourages athletes to achieve their personal best
Experience / Education Required:
• A minimum Bronze Licence swimming coach accreditation or willing to obtain one • AUSTSWIM SWD Certification • Have a first aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain one
Desirable:
• Current registration with ATSCA • Austswim Teacher of Aquatics with People of Disabilities • Previous coaching experience • Experience working within a disability setting • Knowledge of Special Olympics Australia and programs
Time Availability:
Ongoing, Thursdays, 7pm-8pm (except school holidays)

Oakhill College pool 423 Old Northern Rd, Castle Hill
